SUMMARY:Festival of the Sound
DESCRIPTION:Festival of the Sound is a world-renowned chamber and classical music festival in scenic Parry Sound. Under Artistic Director James Campbell the Festival has grown to cover three weeks in July and August\, including dozens of concerts across the musical spectrum and featuring the finest artists from across Canada and around the world. \n  \nIn 1979\, Anton Kuerti purchased a summer home near Parry Sound and organized three concerts by outstanding Canadian musicians. The enthusiastic response to these programmes inspired him to propose an annual concert series. Local residents accepted the challenge\, and the FESTIVAL OF THE SOUND formed a Board of Directors and became a non-profit corporation with Mr. Kuerti as Artistic Director. The 1980 FESTIVAL OF THE SOUND (FOTS) marked the beginning of Ontario’s first annual international summer classical music festival. In 1985\, James Campbell began his tenure as the Festival’s second Artistic Director\, a position he still holds today. \nNow entering it’s 42nd Season\, the Festival of the Sound is one of Canada’s premier summer offerings. Featuring over 50 concerts\, 5 Musical Cruises\, 4 Masterclass discussions\, 4 topical films and over 70 artists\, this will be one for the ages. Come join the party as we invite many special guests from past seasons\, while also keeping our eyes to the Future. There is sure to be something for the whole family\, so start making plans now– you won’t want to miss out! \nThe musicians that come to the Festival of the Sound annually are what make us who we are. Whether it is their 1st or their 40th summer coming to Parry Sound\, each musician is part of the Festival Family. \nMake THIS your year to attend: your heart will never forget the experience!

DESCRIPTION:Beaches International Jazz Festival – Toronto is held as a marvelous music fiesta since 1989. The festival takes place on open-air at “The Beach” neighborhood\, a most popular area among tourists and hedonists\, located on the east side of the “Old” City of Toronto. \nThe festival hosts Canadian musicians and jazz compositions as well as guests from various countries. In addition to the central shows\, in the street fest the visitors can listen to tens of bands which play along two km of Queen Street East. Approximately one million guests attended the previous festivals. \nDue to the numerous visitors during the festival days and the high demand for accommodations it is recommended to check hotel rates and book rooms well in advance.
